Call for Case Presentations

“The Show Must Go On”

Association of Ringside Physicians Annual Conference

As ringside physicians we are sometimes asked to make difficult decisions in letting fighters compete due various medical conditions and injuries.  Sometimes these decisions are made months before the scheduled bout, hours before the bout, and sometimes during the bout.  Often these decisions do not have a significant amount of evidence-based medicine behind them due to limited research in ringside medicine.  Nonetheless, we as ringside physicians are under pressure from the fighters, promoters and commissions to answer the question: “The Show Must Go On???”

The Program Committee of the Annual Conference of the Association of Ringside Physicians invites you to submit a Case Presentation for the meeting in Las Vegas, NV. The submission guidelines are listed below. All Case Presentations must be received by the ARP before September 15^th, 2018. Case Presentations received after this deadline will be returned.

These should be complex cases, which involve complications, uncommon diagnoses or difficult decisions based on unusual circumstances. Case Presentations will be presented as a podium presentation.

Case Presentations selected for podium presentation will be required to submit their presentation in late September/early October. Podium presentations will take place on October 28^th, 2018. Each accepted podium presentation will be 10-15 minutes for the presentation.

Presentations are encouraged to include relevant video and pictures if applicable.  Presentations are encouraged to be in PowerPoint format.
